Canon XM2 or Sony FX1?

I'm shooting the final scene for a short, but the FX1 I used isn't available anymore. I shot in DV-mode.
Should I go for the Canon or continue my search?

Thx,

Piet

I used these two camcorders in a multicam shoot (unless I'm wrong about the XM2 being the Europen version of our GL2 here in the States) and I was able to match them fairly easily, but still, there was some work, and I can't say the result was perfect. So I would say continue your search, but as a last resort you can go ahead with the Canon.

I'll be using this in a different scène, so my question was actually about the resolution. Do you think the Fx1 produces a much sharper, colorful image?

Thanks!

I’d forget about either the XM2 or the FX1 and try to get something newer. The FX7 has a 20X zoom range just like the XM2 and it shoots in HD just like the FX1. So it’s like your getting the best of both worlds if you choose the Sony FX7 and besides, it should be a little bit cheaper than the FX1. Now if you feel that you must have XLR inputs, than you might as well choose either the Canon XH-A1 or the Sony V1.
