Hi Melvin,
Good question. The Extreme is designed around the standard 15 mm rods to allow the easy use of standard Follow Focus and matte box units. I had DSLR's in mind when designing it. see the photo. During the RD process it turned out to be a great support for both video snd DSLR cameras. The MultiRig is more flexible and diverse so I gave the option to mount the Extreme main rods module on it for FF and Matte box use.
