PXW-Z150 bayonet mount wide converters
 

B&H says that the Sony VCL-HG0872K wide converter for the Z5, fits the NX100. B&H lists the same converter as compatible with the PXW-Z100. 16x9 Inc also makes a Z5/Z7 bayonet mount ring for their EXII series wide adaptors/converters.

I will assume the NX100 uses the same bayonet system as the Z150, so I ordered a 16x9 EXII converter to test out the bayonet mount system compatibility. Will update in a week when it arrives.

Good news everybody, the crash on the I-15 freeway has cleared, and traffic is moving smoothly at this hour............and in other news, the Z5/Z7 bayonet mechanism is fully compatible with the Z150.

I did run into one small snag. I bought a used 16x9 EXII 0.75x wide converter on eBay, simply because it was the only source I could find under $500 for a Z5 bayonet mount on a wide converter, and it WOULD NOT attach with my filter in place. Once I removed the filter, the attachment clicked on. Obviously, I don't want to run this camera without a filter on the front,a dn having to unscrew a filter to mount a quick disconnect wide converter renders the quick part a non starter. Anyway, I swapped the bayonet ring onto my other EXII, a 0.8x, and it clicks on with filter in place, no problem.

Will be keeping an eye out for the OEM Sony wide converter,at a reasonable price, and will test to see if that will mount with a 62mm filter in place, since it is made for 72mm filtered lenses, with the same bayonet mount.

In other good news, Full Compass has the 16x9 HDWC8X-Z5 0.8x wide converters IN STOCK, new, on sale for $141 USD. Yay!
