Fujinon lens choice

Has anyone compared Fujinon XS 17x5,5BRM against the Fujinon HSs 18x5,5 ??

I haven't tried the 17x5.5, but my HSs18x5.5 is very good, and I'm glad I bought it. The price won't make that much difference in the long run, and HD is very revealing when it comes to optics.

I own the XS17X5,5. Have never compared it to the 18, but have to say that I love the quality of my pictures

Is there any lens that has a constant aperture throughout the range?
What is the widest aperture lens for this camera?

THank you, I am new in this territory, shot mostly with 1/3 Canon, thinking of upgrading, please share some insight!

That's not an HD lens. It may or may not look okay, but it won't be doing the camera any justice.

John, there's a LOT of pixels in HD and I think one has to stick to the recommended lenses. The 17X5,5 is a very fine lens and it surely works with the F350. Is it way more expensive there than the one in the link?

Thanks, thats what I thought. Its just amazing how expensive an 18X or bigger with a extender is running for HD. This is the cheapest I have found. WOW. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._XDCAM_HD.html

But John, do you really need the extender? My 17X5,5 at the end of the telephoto and standing on my Sachtler 18SB is so sensitive that if you blow on it you notice! If you don't need the extender then the prices are way down from 17K
