Can HC7 transcode?

I've been searching in several forums but can't seem to find an answer to this one. Can the HC7 take an HD signal in (either via HDMI -or- component) and output via Firewire?

TIA!

I'm 95% sure it doesn't. My HC1 certainly doesn't.

Actually, it's 100% no.

But Using 2 HD-Connect boxes (if your signal does not have HDCP) might work.
