Filming 24 or 30p

i know its a silly question but is there a site where i can find out about setting up my hvr v1 for film in 30p 25p , been through the book and settings on the camera and need to get my head round it .

I recommend Phil Hodgetts' excellent HD Survival Handbook. He has a great section on progressive workflows including the V1U.

So, my first question is, since you are in Europe, do you even have 24p ? If you have the V1E, I would think you do not. Can you clarify.


Edit: Oops, I see you changed the body of question to 25p, so that answers that question..

Alan Roberts is an ex-BBC technical wizard. He investigates potential broadcast cameras for the BBC as a consultant these days.

I do not think the V1E will do 30p? Mine is strictly PAL 25 fps only. You need the V1P to be able to record in both NTSC and PAL.

The BBC reports are a wonderful source of information. May I also suggest my book on the V1/FX7.

the v1p does NOT do ntsc / pal. the z1 does however (i think ;-))
