I read and absorbed with glee...

Returned to my camera, made sure both mic channels were set to mic input, then went to menu>audio and tried to get to adjust trim - no joy... can't select either of the trim settings to be able to adjust them..

Still, I'm set at -41 and most things are good, dreading the day I really do need to adjust them...
