Bristol, UK here. Largely corporate and media stuff at the moment on professional basis (ie I get paid for some of it). Shooting with XL1s and Mac based editing system (FCP etc) plus music composition and production. Always happy to learn.

Robbie Dorward December 27th, 2005 09:55 PM

hi, Rob here, Norwich (Uni) and Leicester (Home sweet home). Got nothing at the mo, except a little experience with DV from when i was doing A-Levels. Very not bad though, apparently got a 'natural' gift for it. Hopefully gonna get kitted out with a top-end camera, then other stuff when i get used to it. Also always game for new projects, but only when i got the time. P.s my grammar sucks :)

London -

Hey all,

Great to hear .. i work for a small independent production company here in London and i have 3 shorts to shoot in the next few months for various comps and fests, i have 3 scripts ready to shoot, have pretty much all the gear, XM2, ( FX1, DVX owners welcomed !!!) manfrotto legs and head, Rode Vidmic - mac based edit suite Letus35a & SG35 35 mm adaptors, Canon Fd primes 28mm F2, 50mm F1.4, 85mm F1.8 and a wicked Tamron 135mm F2.5, Raynox Fisheye 0.3x, plus a skateboard (dolly)

I'm looking to direct these films although shooting (DP) is my preferred domain.. but as these are written by me and a friend i would ideally like to direct and offer the DP role to an aspiring talent to show his/her worth.. i want to use 35mm lenses so advanced photography understanding is vital..
Equipment not necessary but HD as i said will be great if you can bring along - 2 cam is better than one..

anyway - i cant manage all of this gear alone and am keen to get people like you guys involved.. so if your in London and want to get on to a craking project or two them let me know.. this is a serious call up so if 'your not' pls dont waste your time

Cheers

Quinn

Hi I'm from Hertford but based at Southampton Uni.I have an xm2 and was involved in the production of a British Snowboard movie last year. Would be keen to get involved in something new although my experience is limited.

Hi

forgot to add i also have the sony uwp-c1 lavaliere and a manfrotto

sounds like we got some good gear in here maybe we should think about getting together?

Quinn

is this paid work or are you just offering people to get experience in the field? Can you tell us more about the projects what are they based around? Are you shooting in a studio or out and about on different locations? what kind of time frame are you giving each project? i would be interested in getting involved but like chris my experience is also limited but i am sure we will pick things up

Thanks

Quinn? I've sobered up now . . .sesshh... Grazie . .

Chris Schulz January 1st, 2006 11:38 AM

Jim, where abouts are you from?
Do you have any ideas for projects?

I am planning to do a bike/camp tour in the summer of Hawaii's Big Island with a friend. We will be exploring sights etc off the beaten track. The kind of places even most locals know little about. Was thinking of shooting it as a documentary and perhaps incorporating some of Hawaiis history/culture.

Otherwise I am somewhat stuck for ideas. I have a lot of experience in filming snowboarding, but would be up for getting into scripted movies and/or documentaries too.

What are other peoples plans etc?

Quinn OConnell January 2nd, 2006 05:20 AM

Jim..

Hi there, projects are short films and unfortunately not paid. I have most of the gear and met up with Grazie last week and between us the gear is covered but more manpower can always be a bonus, i guess its just about getting together and talking over a few ideas and making something casue thats what we want to do..
i your in the london area then do give me a bell 07888836702 and well meet and talk it over.

As for time frame its just a matter of securing the crew, casting is taking place now ( cheers Grazie once again) but logistically the locations have been planned and casting for the bigger project is 80% done..

Lots going on so let me know if your interested in geting involved. via email on my name..

* Chris - got your email.. will reply soon.
Snowboarding films aye! well i have reels and reels of surf footage from al over the world and a few bands aching to soundtrack some extreme sports - how bout keeping in touch and get an editor to cut it all up.. burn it and distribute it..

Chris Schulz January 2nd, 2006 07:42 AM

I have FCP and most of my best footage has already been used for a snowboard film, but I still have rights to my footage and have plenty of contacts within the UK industry too. However although that is my passion, unfortunately the whole 'extreme sports' (hate that term) has been played out way way too much. Maybe you have some kind of interesting perspective to take instead? Otherwise I am keen to get into something different, anything really. Definitely stay in touch.
