I've still only shot one shot so far but I'm trying to get it all shot tomorrow if I can.

To early to jump

Cody and Gabriel, it's too early to jump into the tank! It's plenty of time left to get the footage ready.
Remember this challenge is for fun and something where we learn a lot from each other. The theme is very wide and you can find some of interests in your backyard!

Yes, I know it is to early. However, when you are in a place like me, its hard to get anything on tape, let alone learn something from it. The only things I would be doing is putting my camera on a tripod, hit the record button, and go running/biking around like there is no tomorrow.

At this point in the game, I am afraid I can't do it due to stress overload if I tried. When I compared the amount of gain to the negative, the negative won big time.

Thank Chris, that looks like what I was looking for. Thank you so much for telling me about that!

Come on Gabriel,

Don't you remember your old sig line....

... if an 18-year-old kid came to me with that kind of initiative, I'd hire him on the spot.

It took me all of 4 hours to consider, shoot and cut a 3-minute piece. Admittedly it's not my best work, but I don't mind. It doesn't have to be great. Woody Allen once said that 75% of success was just showing up on time.

If we, with multiple sick kids, mortgages, bills, and little if any spare time can manage it, an 18-year-old with initiative sure can.

Put down the lightsaber and the doritos, and pick-up your camera. Think of "recreation". I was actually considering doing a piece on my son and his friends playing video games. Heck, stamp collecting, knitting and taking a walk are recreation.

I've been following your career since you came on the board and would be dissapointed to see you bail out. Even if you miss the deadline, you should still complete the project.

Wow.... Now the pressure is really on, lol! I do still have tomorrow....

What time is the deadline?

Hmmmm. Today is packed with family stuff, so I do not think I could shoot today... Maybe, I can find some time tomorrow to throw something together...

I think I might be back in this.

Thanks Ken.

put down the doritos and lightsaber, har. that's a good one.

even if all you did was drive around on your bike like a madman, i bet you'd learn something, especially if you figured out how to do that and also get stable footage. that would be an accomplishment.

when i run out of time for the DV Challenge, i always try to make it an opportunity to learn something i didn't know before about my camera...to try a new feature or menu item that i've never turned on before. i don't do my best work for the DV Challenge--ever! but i always learn something that i haven't had time to try before.

Well, I posted a few days back that I was withdrawing (in the tales of wonder/woe thread). So I'm jumping in and swimming now. Rather frustrating really, because I actually shot about 45 minutes worth of video and some of it was pretty good. But I don't have much that fits with the theme or my ideas that I had and no time to edit it into something. Or at least not by monday.

Oh well, maybe next time....

Bummer Jeff!

I shot all day today. Still don't know if I have something but I'm going to work all day tomorrow at editing and see what I come up with.

This is it

Well guys I'm down to it. Between the pay check job, the weather and travel I'm just about out of time and luck.

I have the first minute completed (indoors) but need the remainder.....if I can convince a few people to brave the cold temperatures I may and I say may get the film in on time.

Not easy to convince even the best of friends to go out on SkiDoos at -37C.

Wish me luck....I'm going to need it.

It's been a long time since I could say "I shot all day". ;) Anyway, I just took graphic design job doing some 3D product mock-up renders and it's going to keep me busy this week. And no sooner did I accept the job do I get notice of the deadline extension. Ha! ...Figures. Anyway, I'll see what I can come up with. I may not be out just yet, but it doesn't look good.
