New Short Clip (with Super8 Mimicry)

Hi all,

There's been umpteen threads recently with people trying to get that Super8 look/feel. Well here's the much cheaper option:

Go out and buy the NewBlueFX plugin 'FilmEffects' (the FilmDamage preset)! http://www.newbluefx.com/film-effects.html

For added authenticity I added a slight speed increase and chopping of some frames. I could have gone one step further i suppose and lowered the framerate too.

Bear in mind I'm not happy with that sped up shot (going through a corridor) which really doesn't fit in, so please close your eyes at that point :)

It would of been cool if you could of incorporated their "Love is" theme.

Just an idea...

I have in the main wedding DVD quite a bit if that makes up for it :)

Works for me. I'd sooner go down the route you describe, than chew my fingernails off worrying about using an old Super 8 camera. Quirky and cool as ever Mr W.

nothing beats genuine super8 - i love watching our old family super8 footage with that authentic 'Wonder Years' look :)

but yeah, hopefully this quick plugin alternative will help some people achieve it quickly should they wish (plus have the same footage in glorious HD backup of course!)
