A quick Vegas 10 capture question

I am setting up the capture prefferences and this is throwing me. For some reason I am second guessing myself and want to be absolutely certain which to pick. I am using a Canon HV30 to playback and capture, all video is High Definition. I realize this may be self explanatory but as I said I am second guessing myself as to which option I need to pick here. See the screen shot and please Help?

Thanks in advance.

HDV for HD Tim.
Even when selecting this you can still capture SD if you want to as well, you have more options in the capture window Preferences.

When you choose "DV", it uses the old external capture app used to capture DV footage from older DV cameras or HDV cameras set to output DV.

When you choose "HDV", it uses the newer internal capture app used to capture HDV from newer HDV cameras.

Personally, I leave the checkbox "always use this one" unchecked so I can pick every time I choose the capture option. Even if you do check it, you can still use the other one but you then have to go into the preferences to change between them. I find it easier to just pick each time.
