Shooting in 30P, editing in Vegas and Rendering

I noticed that when I Render after editing in Vegas, I find the file reading as 29.976i. i for interlaced I assume. I shot this in 30P. I just wondered is this how I should render or should I render in progressive? What would be the difference in my outcome? Thanks. J

to what format are you rendering? Print to tape? DVD? HD-DVD?

If you are rendering for DVD, then select the MainConcept template of your choosing (perhaps widescreen?) and then choose the Custom tab to render as 29.97, and change the field properties to "none." This will give you a 30p render. Be sure your project prop's are also 30p.

I have been rendering for DVD. MPEG 2 to be exact. I guess I have been rendering in interlaced instead of Progressive because it is the default. I will try that and see the difference. thanks! J
