credits / titles in 3D in different depths

I saw avatar in 3D, RealD polarized glasses technology and there is a lot of credits and titles flying in differents depths and I became curious, how to do that?

I did a test positioning a white title with a small paralax distance for each eye and it did not work in my anaglyph test.

some thoughts

designing 3d titles in 3d compositing software with light and dual camera views and put each titles pair with a parallax difference in each eye video can create the 3d effect, i think...

the depth difference for each tittle can be created in the 3d composition software calibrating the distance from the camera to object in the compositing, i think...

The easiest way to produce 3D text and move it around the screen would be with StereoPOV, which is a stereoscopic version of POVRay. Just last night I uploaded a brief StereoPOV video on YouTube. It does not have 3D credits, but it does illustrate what kind of stereoscopic depth you can achieve with StereoPOV.

I should add that you only need StereoPOV if you need truly three-dimensional text, that is text that itself has some definite thickness.

If all you need is to move two-dimensional text in 3D space, follow Tim's tutorial if you have a Mac, or, if you are a PC/Windows user, read Bororo 3D | Placing 2D Objects in 3D Space, which describes how I made the Happy 2010! video in just a short time using my Bororo 3D plug-in for Sony Vegas, released just yesterday (the plug-in, not the video).

the easiest way would be to make an after effect null object supporting 2 cameras.
one camera would have all its parameters linked to the other camera, so you would just need to move one camera and have to render twice.
