Okay, Im a prosumer/relative newbie, but $795 seems a bit high for that software package.

I guess I should download the trial and try it out.

VLC Media player is working pretty good as a focusing/viewer tool for free. Just no reliable capture (yet) or scopes.

Thanks for the support you have given for my upgrade.
Especially David from the support team.

I have a question for a future version. Are you guys working on the feature to import media into the DVrack software? I mean footage m2t or DV files, which were not recorded in DVrack or to be able to re-import Ejected clips?
I would be so huge to be able testout clips received from other people for projects and events.

Mark Mapes September 29th, 2006 09:34 AM

Done. Version 2.0 allows importing clips that have been ejected or are currently in another project. While only clips recorded by DV Rack are officially supported for importation, standard format clips recorded, captured, or rendered from other apps should also work.

In a similar vein, you can now open a project on any computer that has DV Rack installed. Previously, the project's path on another system had to be identical to allow access.

Great! I couldn't find the feature on the new featurelist.
Indeed, I can just drag and drop files into the DVR-1500 Recorder now.
This alone makes the upgrade worth the money.
The 720p monitor is also a big help.

The upgrade sale price window has been extended until October 10th.

An upgrade path that is missing on the list

HI Karl
I have a situation that requires an additional upgrade path than the listed

I was a DV rack SD customer, Upgraded to DV rack 2.0 SD, now I want to upgrade DV RACK 2.0 hd. Is it possible to just pay the 149. and get the additional upgrade? Now that you have extended the upgrade time period, I think that there might be some additional folks like myself who might want to do the full upgrade

Sharyn

DV Rack 2.1 update now available

Free Updates for DV Rack to Versions 2.1.1570.0 (HD) and 2.1.1571.0 (SD)[11.7MB]

These updates are recommended for all users. This fixes the known RAM issue, among other items. For a complete list of all fixes, please check the Serious Magic website.

To get the update, open DV Rack, click on Help-Check for Updates. DV Rack will automatically download and install the update.

Mark Mapes October 17th, 2006 08:17 PM

When the installation completes, your system may reboot without warning. It is strongly recommended that you exit all programs before updating. Or you can avoid the reboot by manually downloading the patch through the links provided in this thread on our forum: http://www.seriousmagic.com/msgboard...c.php?id=29926

The first time you run DV Rack after installing the update, you will be prompted by Sofwrap to activate the new version. Please select "Update."

Both the SD and HD versions are available as trials. Pay no attention to the version numbers shown in the email and in the downloads' filenames--in order to get this new trial posted tonight, we had to use the old version number, all of which will be remedied by our webmaster tomorrow.
