An Instruction Manual for Premiere Pro CS4 ?

Due to a unique set of circumstances, I find myself with Premiere Pro CS4 on my computer, some video I just shot at a local Jam Session with my Canon HV40 & DM50 Mic, and a few friends who would like copies on DVD. The footage looks pretty good, I'd like to add more bottom end to the sound though. The real issue however is I don't have a clue how to use PP CS4. I have captured the footage but now I need a book for "dummies". I'm sure there are some people who have advice on which books are the best.

Look for: "Classroom in a book". http://www.adobe.com/training/books/classroom.html

I have quite a few books but I find I do better seeing something done vs reading it, maybe because I'm old. For my money Lynda.com is the way to go. You can try out a few lessons for free.

Somewhat surprisingly, perhaps, the Adobe CS4 online help isn't bad, and has links to many free tutorials.

Big thumbs up for lynda.com. I have also found "Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Bible" to be useful. Although I started with CS4 version and have not seen an update of this book, there's enough in common between the versions that it's a handy reference. Thanks to all !

Many thanks to each of you for your responses. I have considered my options and decided to order the CS4 Classroom in a Book from AMAZON. Not everyone gives it a good review. I think it will be more helpful for a novice like me though. I like being able to look at the book alternately while I'm looking at my computer screen. I hope I can go to the chapter that pertains to my task at hand and just get it done.

I haven't read all the reviews, but from my understanding those negative comments were largely caused by people with all kinds of codec problems, so they could not use the included tutorials on disk. If you have a proper system that is not polluted, you should benefit greatly from this book. Happy editing.
