lower burn speed reply

Yes, I burn a 16x disc at 12x. I also use Taiyo Yuden discs. I have never had a complaint from a client, yet.

I am under the impression that it is the DVD players themselves that sometimes cannot read high mps discs. Though I do agree with you that most errors come from defective discs and/or max burn speeds.

Hi Mat,
I'm using Premiere/Encore CS3, but I can send you my settings later tonight if you are interested.
Not sure if there are any encoding quality differences from CS3 to CS4.

If I remember correct, I have the average bitrate around 8,6mbps and max just above 9.
(VBR 2 pass encoding)

Never reduced the burning speed, always used max possible. (I think it is 12 or 16x)
