Jagged images in AE

Hi,

I have a problem with After Effects CS4. I have done a slideshow in Final Cut Pro and exported as a uncompressed MOV. I import the MOV to AE for some color correction etc, and export from AE to another uncompressed MOV, and bam! There's the problem - as soon as I export from AE the images get jagged, and it looks awful! Any ideas?

Sounds like an interlacing issue.

Make your FCP slideshow, and all subsequent output files progressive and see if the issue remains.

Thanks for the reply,

Unfortunately, that's what I thought first too - but it's progressive all the way through the pipeline from FCP to AE and beyond.

Is there any chance you are outputting in less-than-full resolution from AE?

Whatever the issue, it seems to be happening in AE.

Does your FCP interpret the file correctly? ie. not upper or lower field first.
