getting more from my MBook Pro

I just got CS5 (I haven't downloaded it yet but I am going to tomorrow when I get a chance). I am wondering what suggetions people have in how I may be able to get more out of my MacBook Pro. Right now I have:

OX 10.5.8
Proc: 2.6 GHz Intel Core Duo
Mem 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SD RAM

Over time the performance seems to hav gotten worse. Now that I'm working with mostly 7D I'd like to get more out of the MB if possible.

Any thoughts ?

Have you run disc warrior? If the machine is slowing down, this might be a good solution.

Thanks Ed. I have not run Disc Warrior. It sounds that may be an example of an idea I was hoping to hear of. Sounds like it;s worth a try. I'll find it and see if that helps. Thanks again.
