Multiple timelines in encore - increased size!!!

Hi All - I have one transcoded video file in my Blu-Ray encore project on a timeline - i can quite happily burn my project but when i create several timelines using the same asset (dynamic link from Premiere) I'm told that now the project exceeds the disc capacity - what gives?

Is encore going to create a new duplicate asset for each of the timelines? My video is 2 hours and encore is saying it will be 53GB!!!

I'm up against it regarding a deadline and I'm only using multiple timelines as Blu-ray does not support chapter playlists - which i normally use for standard DVDs

Re: Multiple timelines in encore - increased size!!!

I'm afraid the duplication is inevitable as each timeline is treated as a distinct asset, even if the contents are identical.

You say Blu-ray does not support chapter playlists. It does, I use them all the time. Earlier versions of Encore did not support Chapter Playlists, but that is a different matter. Encore CS6 certainly supports chapter playlists, and I think CS5.5 did too. CS4 certainly did not, and I am almost certain that CS5 did not as well.

Alan I have CS5.5 and have tried creating a structure using chapter playlists - as I do with standard DVDs and when playing a BD disc and selecting a chapter - it just starts playing the menu again and doesn't go to the chapter - maybe I should look into using overrides?
