You stopped too soon. It only conforms to get the Peak files it needs to draw the waveform. It is time consuming but it does not use the huge conformed audio files on the majority of audio imported into the project.

Chris B.... your trial issue...

advice from a network engineer who doubles as a camera man.

I assume you are running XP Pro SP 1 or 2... click start -> all programs (or just programs) -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

select a restore point before your install of the trial.
after your machine reboots - delete the folder that it was installed into.

hey Steven, I tried bringing in around 20gb worth of raw miniDV footage into premiere 2.0. Same old deal as before, conforming audio. i didn't notice any difference, my rig isn't that bad either.. 768mb ram, 3200 64 bit athlon venice core, and 7200rpm drives..its still huge, still resource intensive, still takes time to conform...just lettin ya know.. i doubt its my rig too...:(

But Spike, have you looked in the folder on your drive? Is it small Peak files or large conformed audio files?

I'm thinking about getting Production Studio Premium (thanks goodness for student discounts)
I found there's the "Premium" version... then "Premium with Color Corrector". Does anyone have details as to what this is? From what I can gather it has to do with correcting color for things as you copy them to DVD... I'm not sure if I need this or not.

Also, does Premiere Pro 2 support the Shuttlepro2 now, or has it been supported all along and I never figured it out?

Thanks.
