As for cineform if you by Connect HD you can capture and export cineform or M2t clips using HD link and you can edit the clips within either version of Premiere pro or Vegas. The only thing you don't get is the real time acceleration within Premiere. Having said that, even without the acceleration that Aspect gives I still get better editing performance using Cineform files than native m2t HD mpegs.

So if I have Premiere 1.51 and which already has the Cineform Codec as its primary HDV capture intermediate file, I shouldn't even need HD Connect, because I can capture in 1.51 and edit in 2.0, right ?

Good question, Maybe, probably? Interestingly if you install the Aspect HD 4 demo and then uninstall it you can choose to leave the codec's on the system. The PPro 1.5 CFHD codec is set a lowish bit rate, however the Aspect 4 codec has a choice of different bit rates. So by installing the demo and then uninstalling it you can get the selectable bit rate codec for use in either version of premier pro, you just don't get the real time acceleration (which is very good).

I should find out more about this today. My 2.0 upgrade will be arriving, and I will confirm what you are indicating.

I had the same problem with my demo. In fact, I went through the same process: Noticed there wasn't any HDV settings, reinstalled, removed then reinstalled, then got the registration error.

I resolved it by doing a manual remove of Premiere Pro. This included manually deleting folders, files, and registry keys. I wasn't able to find a manual remove document on Adobe's site for just Premiere, but I found one for the new video collection and that did the trick. Too lazy to look it up for you though.

Uninstall Trial issues

Through Adobe, I was directed to download a Microsoft uninstall cleanup utility, which did the trick. I am now running the upgrade and it has the HDV included.
