Troubles importing footage from Canon XH A1 at DVinfo.net

I'm using Premire Pro 2.0. The computer freezes up and I can capture the video. I'm really new to this and any help would be awesome!!

Are you trying to import SD or HD footage? Are you using a Firewire input? Do you have the camera set to playback or external source?

Right now I am trying to import HD. I am using firewire. I think i have the camera set to playback. How do I tell?
