Operational: Properly removing the Storage Module from Ki Pro

After several days of watching users at the IBC tradeshow eagerly operate the Ki Pros we have on display, the only operational item people don't seem to instinctively know how to do is properly remove the Storage Module from the Ki Pro.

The good news is 99% of the time even if someone removes the Storage Module incorrectly, it really doesn't prove to be problematic.

Having said that... here is the correct procedure for removing the Storage Module, as noted in the Ki Pro Quick Start Guide on page 12:

To properly remove media, hit the SLOT button. You will note that the information for the Clip in the upper left hand corner of the UI now states "N/A", as does the Reel and where the available percentage of the media is displayed, it now reads "NoSlot". You will also note that the LED is no longer lit. This means that it is now safe to remove the media. To remove the storage module media, simply push in and hold the Media Release button on the upper left hand corner of the unit using your left hand while pulling the media out of the unit with your right hand. Note: the Media Release button is not an eject button, you need to hold it in while removing the media.

If you'd like to read the whole Quick Start Guide, you can view it or download it from the AJA website as a PDF file from the following location:

I just thought this might be useful information to share here.

Feels nice to have spent a lot of time working on Ki Pro and then see everyone happily operating the units we have at the tradeshow here Amsterdam! Thanks to all those who have stopped by the AJA booth at IBC 2009.
