Record Mains in Soundtrack Pro from Onyx 1220

I'm trying to record via the Onyx 1220 and a dbx 166xl compressor via firewire into Soundtrack Pro. I know the Mackie Firewire shoots out pre-everything so the eq and inserts aren't part of that send for each channel. But I thought I read somewhere that it also sends the mains after eq/inserts so that if you were willing to give up individual tracks you could get an eq'd signal. That would be fine; I mostly am only using one or two mics for spoken word (voiceover, etc). I can't seem to figure out how to get that Main sigal (no problem getting the pre-eq signal from track 1). I'm not terribly audio literate; can anybody point me in the right direction so I can get a post compressor signal (albeit restricted to 2 channels). Thanks for your help.
