I'm probably going to take a chance and have Location Sound order it for me (depending on the price). If I do this, I'll take pics when it comes in and post them. I think it should fit a 302 and a 744T. The "2" model is longer, but the same height and width.

If you are talking about the KATA SUNDO-1 or 2 I would be very pleased to see some detailed pictures of it.
Thanks in advanced! |
EVS in Glendale shows KATA on there website. I'm going to drop on by and see if they actually have it to look. Will report back. It's an expensive bag.

Looking good Ross.
I guess anyway you slice it....... it's not as bad as a Nagra. |
Anyone already more information or pictures of the KATA SUNDO bags?

I ordered one from Location Sound. Don't know when it will arrrive. |
Ya, I went over to EVS, never been there before.. I was disappointed.
Not as much stuff in that shop as I thought. |
I bought the Sundo-1 from B&H and it has arrived.
The reason it's $250-$300.... this is one quality bag! It's smaller than a Portabrace RunBag-1, about the size and look of a 35mm photo camera bag, but with enough room for mixer and recorder, couple of wireless, extras, while keeping all connectors/wires inside the bag, and doesn't stress regular straight XLR cables or TRS plugs on the mixer or recorder. Very easy to pull the mixer or recorder out if you have to get at them. Shoulder strap is extremely comfortable. Completely waterproof, clear vinyl window on top of main compartment and front compartment. I'd say it's a small run bag that can be worn over the shoulder. Sundo-2 would be too large IMO. |
Can you post some pictures of it please?
Thanks in advanced! |
Has anyone tried the sound devices bags, CS-3 or 4? Just curious, they seem a bit overpriced

Here's an update: I got the Kata SUNDO-1 and it had different specs and design than their website shows. It's bigger and does not have rounded corners. Kata has not responded to my email and I returned the bag. I think they changed the design.
So wound up getting a Petrolz. It's sturdy, light weight, has a nice neck strap, can carry an SD 302 and a 7 series recorder SUNGLY, also has pockets for two wireless transmitters. And the price is good ~ $169 from Location Sound. |
Yep, it's not round. Not rectangle or square either. I'm keeping it. The specs indicate a rather large bag, even for the small one, can't see getting the next size larger.
|
Brooks, yeah it IS a VERY nice bag. My intention was to get the smallest bag I could get away with which is why I switched the Petrolz.
