Archiving Audio

What approach are you all using for archiving audio? I'm currently combining storage on multiple hard drives with CD or DVD storage, but I'm not convinced about the long-term viability of writable optical disks. Hard drives are fine but are obviously subject to physical shock or internal failure. With flash memory now becoming very affordable, I'm wondering about using USB flash "drives" for storage. Your thoughts/preferences?
