Has anyone hotrodded their Oktava MC012?

There have been reports of people hotrodding there MC012 mics and getting dramatically increased performance(quality?). Has anyone done this and do you have any plans or know where they can be got from?

If anyone has done this, could you also inform us interested people what the results were like?

I'm thinking of getting these mics and would like some info on this.

Thanks
Aaron

Thanks Tavis. I assume you've done the mod? How were your results? What did you notice had changed?

Aaron

Edit: Ok, your email just came through. See you don't have the mic so can't comment. Thanks a lot for those though!

sorry i don't even own the mic, but afellow was nice enough to e-mail me the plans because i was thinking about getting the mic in the future.

From everything i've heard, it greatly improves the oktava. Not that it necessarily NEEDS improvement. I've heard some sound clips that another members of these forums posted and the oktava REALLY hold its own against much more costly mics.

Is there any way that you could email those plans to me as well? I would really appreciate it. I just picked up an mc012 and would really like to do the mod.

Thanks!

This is a copyrighted article. To even ask in the forum is really a no no. The cool way is to email someone, you know has it that way there are no ruffled feathers.
