Not sure about that Amos. But there is an official Oktava shock mount:

Oktava shock-mounts, stereobars and other acessories. Oktava-online - only genuine Russian made studio microphones

I've ordered one myself

hey toenis, is a blimp necessary for the ntg 3 for outdoor narrative? Do you find that it is frequently necessary than not?

thanks

The Rode blimp works well - I just used it outdoors in the rain on the NTG3.

Some kind of real windcover like a rycote or lightwave is essential outdoors, there is always more air movement than you realise. In windy conditions it is the difference between heaing the wind or hearing the talent.

In an actual shoot I have done side by side recording with a cam mic without cover and one on boom with a lightwave cover (like a mini blimp with built in short hair). Both about 4 foot away from the talent.

On the covered mic, no wind - just voice. On the uncovered mic practically no voice just wind buffeting the mic sounds.

I ordered another cover the next day.
