Foam windscreens for lav mics
I have a couple Sony ecm-77b. I have been looking for a low cost solution to replace the metal screens that cost $15 bucks each. I looked on B&H and they have foam windscreens made for the 77b at $110 for 12. That is still expensive. I was in radio shack and found 4 widnscreens for $2.99. They fit better than the ones B&H sell. If you have a small countryman or any other tiny mic head, these might work. It took a little bit of finesse to get them on, pretty tight; but this will only help them stay on. It will be nice not worrying about these widnscreens getting lost, one lost windscreen and it can kill your hourly rate. I will still use the good ones for high end work that pays well. Now I need to find a low cost screen for the ecm-44b.
