Audio Monitors Advice

Hi, Was wondering if any one can help me. I am looking at purchasing some audio Monitors Mainly for use with Video editing using Adobe premiere, But i also do a bit of recording and mixing with protools, I have heard a lot of good feedback about Yamaha Ns10s but am wondering if they will also be adequate with video editing as i understand they are more for Audio recording and mixing. Is it possible to get monitors that are diverse enough for both programs, or do i need Seperate monitors for each program. Also I have a Yamaha Amp. So i dont think i will need powered monitors as i know NS10s arnt. Are non powered monitors better for audio recording?
Thanks any help is appreciated.

Trent, you might want to read http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...t=45216&page=2 for a little more feedback on the NS10's.
Talk about weird, no one mentions NS10's ever in this forum, and then 5 mentions in two days....Personally, you couldn't give me a pair of em', but some folks seem to like them. Whatever pair you'll be using, they'll be used and at least 5 years old.
Powered vs non-powered:
These days, powered is the optimal way to fly, because:
1. Amp is (usually) matched to speakers/xover
2. Fewer cables to hassle with
3. (usually) balanced inputs no matter the run length
4. Just one fewer thing to go wrong in the chain

There is also nothing wrong with non-powered speaks.
Monitors are monitors, overall when it comes to mixing for vid vs music.
