Cheapest way to mount Zoom H4N on DLSR's

I want to find the most stable way to mount the zoom h4n onto my Canon 7D. I figure that I'm mostly going to have a sound person carry the thing and record with it separately while I worry about the video, but just as a back-up or if I'm recording something for fun I need some way to attach it to the camera. I figure mounting on-top of the camera through the hot shoe would be the best way but I hear that I've heard this can cause problems with the camera. Anyone else have the H4n and have found a good solution?

I'm sure there are less expensive ways than a $48 swivel shoe mount, but it's what a lot of folks are using. Manfrotto 492 - 492 Micro Ball Head

The non-swivel versions can be found with a bit of digging, they're lower profile too (not as tall). I like the swivel version because I can adjust the angle to clearly read the LCD screen and make sure everything is a-ok.

Hope this helps,
