I concur with the above. (Wireless mic on talent) If you have the budget for another recorder (or even cam mics) have a fixed stereo set to pick up audience reactions, laugh, applause, ect. for post when needed.

Another option, if you are going to buy a radio system is to check what system the venue use, and if it's a Sennheiser, simply put your receiver on the channel they're using, and use their tx pack!

+1 for thinking outside the box. Definitely a good idea, provided your receiver's compander matches the transmitter's compander (if any).
