Need wireles headset info fo wenesday shoot

I'm doing sound on Wednesday for a 5d shoot. it's a last minute thing with an out of town dp and producer, and after going over the particulars, they called back and also want two wireless headphone sets, one for each of the clients. I'm running the mic(s) into my SD302 mixer. Two questions:
1- What kind of headsets should I rent, and
2- How do I hook them up with the sd302?
Also, would it be easier to go with wired?
There's a decent rental place I can call in the am, but would appreciate any feedback .
Thanks

Re: Need wireles headset info fo wenesday shoot

Are they asking for headworn mics to put on the talent or are they asking for wireless headsets so clients observing the shoot from behind the camera can monitor audio?

They're for the clients to monitor the audio from about 2o feet away.

Rent a Comtek setup with transmitter and as many receivers/headphones as required. They're ubiquitous on pro shoots and there would be a gazillion rental houses in your area that will have them.

Re: Need wireles headset info fo wenesday shoot

Steve,
Thanks for the reply. I tried 3 places down here and none of them had Comteks. I also ddin't want to go on an unpaid scavenger hunt all day long. A good friend, who does location sound, set me up with something that should work ( we did test it).

Mic(s) into my SD 302.
XLR's out of 302 to the dp's Zoom h4n ( he's insisting on using it).
Head phone out of his zoom to his 5diii ( again he's insisting...)
Tape out of the Sd 302 to my Sennheiser transmitter.
Senn recriver into an SD headphone box, with 4 out puts for headphones.

All this so that 3 of their "clients" can listen to a one person interview ...
I think I'll need my extra ration of chocolate tomorrow...

Most pro film sound mixers have Comteks, find one in your area, who may may rent them out or refer you a source. Most rental houses will ship gear as well.

TAI Audio in Orlando can likely help you out.
Another option is a Ear monitor system, (like the Sennheiser IEM30) but many of those type systems have a base-station type transmitter, if that's an issue.

Re: Need wireles headset info for wenesday shoot

Here is the setup I use for Commercial productions / SNG- ENG jobs.
1x Comtek TX and 3x Comtek RX.... the TX can be fed from the direct outs of the 442 mixer or a feed from the TA3 sockets with the main mix O/P.

With SNG-ENG I will bring the return IFB into the mixer into (CH4) feed a 'direct out' of CH4 to the comtek TX, then will pan CH4 post fader to the R this gives me an XLR o/p of the incoming IFB signal than then can be fed to a cable IFB user (portaprompt) the 3x RX go to Talent, Producer and Camera operator. I can also monitor the incoming signal by selecting stereo in my headphones.... LEFT is outgoing signal, RIGHT is incoming.
