Dual mic clip for Sennheiser ME2

I own several Tascam DR10CS recorders and each of them use a Sennheiser ME2 lav mic. I use these for wedding ceremonies and they are fabulous. I typically place one on the groom and one on the officiant. They include a -12db safety track which has been very helpful when the subject speaks too loudly. I have two spare units that my second team of videographers use when they shoot a wedding on the same day as me, but often we only have a single wedding on a day and the extra units are not in use.

Currently I attach a Sennheiser G3 transmitter to each of the Tascams where the audio passes through the Tascam into the G3 which sends a signal to my camera as a backup. However, the G3s are a little bulky and they typically have interference issues so I would like to move away from using them.

I would like to purchase a mic clip that will hold two ME2 microphones so that I can place two DR10CS units on each person, use two separate lavs, and set them at different levels so that one of them is a backup. The ME2 has a cylinder at the top where the stock mic clip loops around. I would really like to find a similar mic clip that can hold two of the ME2 mics in a similar way where it loops around the cylinder rather than the cord (I think that if the clip only holds the mics on the cords then they will go limp and not stay in place). I found this Shure mic clip that looks very close to what I need, but I don't think the loops will fit the ME2.

Does anyone know of a dual mic clip that is just like this but can hold two ME2 mics?

At the link you posted they've got one for just about every mic except the ME2 :| It looks like the MZQ 22 might work, I would like something that clips around the cylinder though as it looks like this one just clips around the wire.

Well, there's a thing.

I've been crawling all over the Sennhieser spare parts lists, and guess what, I can't see Senni making or supplying one. You could give them a call and see if they do do one?

I don't think sennheiser make one that goes around the body of the mic, sony make one for the ECM77 but I think it may be too small for the ME2.

We use the dual cable ones at work but the cables can be a problem in such set-ups as they add a lot of bulk to the back of the clip.

Re: Dual mic clip for Sennheiser ME2

I called Sennheiser and they said they don't have the one I'm looking for but the MZQ 22 should work pretty well.

I'll order one and see how it holds up.

Thanks for your help,

Mike
