MKH 50 for outdoors
I currently have a MKH 8060 and an Audix for indoor use. I have heard that others have used the MKH 50 successfully outdoors. I primarly shoot interviews indoors and out. Would it be beneficial to me to sell the 8060 and pick up the MKH 50 for my indoor work and outdoor work? I understand that the 8060 is a shotgun mic, but for interviews outside I do not think the MKH 50 would let you down with it's reach and ability to reject sound from the sides. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Re: MKH 50 for outdoors
I'd keep the 8060 and the Audix (assuming it's the SCX1-HC). With interviews, we usually have some level of control, so the Audix should sound very good. The MKH 50 is a really good mic, and would work outdoors.. but it ain't a shotgun, when you need that 'reach'.
