Zoom H-4 Line level?
Is anyone feeding the Zoom H-4 a line level Signal? If so, does it work well and is it easy to use? I'm looking for something really portable that sounds good and I wonder how well the H-4 would work with my Mixpre. I like that it has XLR connectors.
Thanks in advance. Best wishes, Peter ______________________ http://www.parkfilms.com |

The H4 has combo TRS/XLR inputs.
For line-level sensitivity you need to use the 1/4" TRS inputs. This is also a balanced input, every bit as good a signal as XLR, but they don't lock in quite as securely. It works great! Do search this forum for H4 threads, there's some good info here. Were I to pair it with a mixer in a bag, I'd consider an external battery system. (the H4 wants 9v) |
