Split Audio

Hey all,

This is an audio question, but involves editing too.
We have been doing a show with music layered over dialog. The client is requesting a 'split audio' master and I wanted to be sure they get what the are asking for. I am not familiar with the term split audio and its the first time its been requested by a client. I am assuming that it has the dialog and music on separate tracks in the dvd, correct? If its something else, please clue me in.

Cheers

he's asking for the following:

1. the mix in full with everything
2. Dialogue stem ( dialogue only ) mix ( mute everything else )
3. Music stem ( music only ) mix ( mute everything else )
4. SFX stem (SFX/ambience/foley )( everything that is not dialogue and /or music
5. M&E's (Everything except dialogue )( music & SFX stem ) mix

this is a rather normal delivery spec for broadcast and film. Sometimes they only want a sub-set of these... like dialogue only and then M&E's

cheers
