Letus35FE with HV10

I just got a Canon HV10 which I love... I want to know if the it's possible to use it with the Letus35FE..

I assume I would need a rod support system, or would I ? The camera is just over 1lb with the battery, couldn't I just hold the letus unit as opposed to the camera?

Say if I do use a rod system, the way I understand it is that I would mount the camera onto the rods thru the bottom tripod thread, how would I guarantee then that the HV10 lens will line up with the Letus35FE's thread mount?

I've attached a photoshop image to illustrate my concern.

Image A shows a properly lined up setup, where the distance(in red) is the same on the Letus and HV10.

Image B shows a setup with mismatching distance between the Letus and HV10.
