Pmw-ex1 + Mini35 + Agus Bits And Pieces

For the idly curious, a clip for the viewing.

It took about 6 hours to put together the extra bits and pieces needed to enable the two products to enter into a sort of relationship, if not made in heaven, then made in a shed.

I wondered if 1/2" imagers would be too wide to see the Mini35 groundglass without vignetting. Phil Bloom's adventures with the EX1 and the Letus Extreme prompted me to give this a go when the items were available to bring together, albeit for too short a time.

This camera probably puts P+S into a bit of a conundrum. The company has recently done an R&D to make the PRO35 work with 1/2" imagers in direct relay setups on seriously pro cameras.

Now Sony come along with a 1/2" lens-in-camera model potentially capable of living happily with the less expensive Mini35. A potential dilemma for P+S I guess, is one in-house product competing with another in the 1/2" marketplace.

This was a rough and ready, though very carefully executed experiment with a Mini35-400 for JVC GY-HD100 and a demo EX1 kindly loaned overnight by our local premium dealership. No damage or injury has occurred to any of the items.

I think I may have mixed two clips up in the low-light section.
