could this be an alternative to mini35?

i don't know much about photo lenses so this question may sound naive but check this out:

No, that multiplies the focal length of any of the lenses you use with it by 7.2x. That means if you want a standard 50mm lens (35mm equiv), you'd need about a 7mm lens, or a combo of lenses and wide angle adapters, and even then I doubt the results would be the same.

Given the same aperature, longer lenses have less depth of field, so even with the multiplication, I think you'd increase your depth of field when compared to the 35mm equiv.
