steev:
where did you find him? can i have him when you're done?

Dan Diaconu March 12th, 2005 02:59 PM

Steev,
Move the GG a touch closer to the lens so you don't get vigneting at all.
Is not bad, but is there (a bit)
You can do it , I can help... lol.....

re: adapter-Steeeeve, She's a real beaut, I'll take two.

Gosh and you got so popular, so quick. Can I eat at the cool kid's table too? Liked the Bit with Kenny. Tell him I said "para diddle", not "touch your nipple". Frickin' cell phones.

Wow… you could sell tickets.

Dan Diaconu March 30th, 2005 12:20 AM

Good for you Steev, good for you. Did you pull focus too? What lens?

Steev Dinkins March 30th, 2005 12:29 AM

Yeah, that was my ninja camera focus pulling verite circus act - an enlightening experience.

Lens - same contraption I've been using.

Dan Diaconu March 30th, 2005 12:39 AM

What is the focal length and aperture on the lens (was it a 50/1.8?) Could you use one more ring to get the GG 1-2cm further away from the lens ;-)

Steev Dinkins March 30th, 2005 12:56 AM

It's a Takumar 55mm/1.8. The way the 16X manual lens works, it likes the Beattie screen right where it is. :) Come on XL2 owners. Rise! What's the "next" step? I've given up on improvement really. The ninja said I was ready.

OMG! That's my long lost father!

Daddy!

Dino Reyes March 30th, 2005 10:07 AM

nice...

nice little ninja master street interview... Steev, you put together such an awesome device with some real good ideas. i'm currently working on (2) updated versions based on some of those ideas.

I've also come up with a prototype idea that would be more inexpensive and also be stronger/lighter/shorter in size. i haven't posted the schematics till i know it will work - but the design is exquisite. The most important thing about this model, is that it will work with a follow focus kit.

i also just picked up a nice pana gs400, and using the same design, i'm also designed a micro dv lens adapter. basically, it should be itty-bitty with perhaps a fast/wide prime lens at the end. i hope to have it ready by summertime.

ideas, ideas... stay tuned!!
