Daves,
I can not say in words how much I like it! You are the first one (I know of) to reproduce the moving Fresnel.
If instead of the "hard mount" you have now you would use some rubber, you might end up with less than linear motion (elliptical) which would be better. At least the movement is PLANE !!!! and this is a huge plus.
Very good.

Thank you... this shots are from old version of mechanism I made last weekend. You know it... its working (some way), but it can not be used :/ because of many problems...

This time we are working on new one, circular, producing less vibration, less noise, certain running... We have first assembly done, but the motor axle is wrong set up and we have some Z axis movement. Hope we fix it soon.

Looks like monolog, but I'm so happy our next motion mechanism is working :)
Hope it will work with GG attached and will be able to post some video...

Maybe does not look, but its calibrated so if you hold it in hand, you almost do not feel any vibrations. Also the noise is just the noise of motor...

I feel like running away when I see that first image, you didn't get injured I hope?
It's very hard to tell from the images what it is, or how it works. Is it noisy?

At the beginning there was a dream. It turned into an idea, then the ambition and hard work turned the idea into reality....

Hey Dan, when you said 'I can not say in words how much I like it! You are the first one (I know of) to reproduce the moving Fresnel.' - do you mean besides yourself? It was a little confusing to me what you meant by that statement! I thought you were using a Beattie/Maxwell focusing screen (or maybe they are the same thing?)

lol, its true. You can get serious injure if you put you fingers to close...
Its calibrated, so when you hold it in hand, you feel just very small vibrations. The part moving in eccentric circle is very light. Hope with attached GG it will be under 20g. The noise is little bit more then the noise of motor.
In fact we didnt attach GG to it yet, but seems to be working. I will complete it and test it tonight.

Consumption is about 6-12/100 (Volts/km) lol, Well - I do not know If I can cut trees, but grass absolutely (rotf). Who cares... Our first mechanism can be used as vibrator for women, this one maybe end up as grass cutter :))) You know... sometimes you are building something and at the end you will find, you are in fact building something else than you thought it is at the begining :)))

Do not expect anyone to "cheer" you (if you do not share your findings or sell cheap). Mind your own life. You are on the right path.
