Difference between Micro35 and Canon 35mm adapter?

Hiya,

Didn't receive my micro 35 guide yet, but searching for a mount for a canon EF lens came up empty. And made me wonder if a Canon 35mm adapter for an XL-1 is almost the same as the micro35? Can somebody help me out here?

The EF adapter is something else. It allows you to mount EF lenses to the
XL series of camera's. However, it does not have a ground glass and thus
the focal length is multiplied by 7.2x on an XL1(S). In other words, if the
EF lens would be a 50mm lens it becomes a 360mm lens on the XL1 (telelens).

The other adapter you are talking about is the P+S Technik mini35 adapter,
this is a $10.000 (yes, $10K) adapter to mount 35mm lensen on a number of
camera's.

The guide you bought is to make a homemade version of that $10K adapter.
