ohh, good.
I was testing the camera a couple weeks ago and I found some bad blocking. It is noticeable using interlaced mode, shooting moving people (specially horizontal movement, on skin tones, not close up shots but mostly general.Yours from the video would be considered close-ups for this purpose). Also shooting moving water is a pain in the ass. I guess that if internal Mpeg2 compression is compressing the fields together, shooting progressive would shield better results. From my own experience I can tell that in fact it is(but don't know how much). Now the question is: Which one is better in terms on resolution? |
Hi Ben, you are absolutely right about the chroma separation, which is due to a rather cheap macro i was using at the time. This is not the case now i have had the time to find beter quality parts, courtesy of Wayne Kinney and his efforts with his 35mm adapter. I look foward to seeing how that cavision rod support works out for you. It is great value isn't it!
Juan, I have done some simple tests, bringing footage shot interlaced and in CF25 (NOT CF24 which is aparently not very good). The quick comparrison i did was just to check i wasn't loosing loads of resolution by doing this, and I'll be honest, i couldn't see any noticable differences, and therefore in my opinion it seems silly to shoot in interlaced and go through the hastle of de-interlacing in post, with no noticable gain in image quality or resolution. Dont know whether any of this helps, but i think CF25 is not too bad. I did turn the sharpness down to 0 on the camera, because otherwise everything becomes shrouded by black lines which isn't a look i like. However it does mean that the image is a bit softer than some. |
Here's another video shot with CF25 and the G35 adapter.

Here here! I second that. Nice work guys and good job Johnatan on the G35.
What lenses did you use? List them please, or post some pics of the gear. Was there a wireless FF? |
Nice set design! How much of the budget went to building the set. Once again, great video...keep up the good work.
