Welcome to the Apertus forum

The Apertus open source cinema project has finally grown out of its original DV Info Net confines (previously it was a very long thread called http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/apertus-o...33-camera.html) and now has its own dedicated forum here. I've closed the original thread, which was becoming quite difficult to navigate with more than 1100 replies. Please start new threads as various Apertus topics warrant. Thanks all,

Manny thanks to DVinfo for this forum.
I encourage everyone with interest in building a HD cinema camera to add ideas, comments or whatever you like as long as it's born out of enthusiasm.
This is -not- a forum for software and hardware wizards only. Everyone should be able to follow all the discussions and add ideas, from film makers to DIY hobbyists to programmers.
We have a website where you can get an idea what it is all about: www.cinema.elphel.com

Good to see this. There are other Elphel threads.

I suggested a sub-forum for the many open source digital cinema camera projects in the past, probably over a hundred threads (as they have slowed down a bit). It is hard to navigate for the cameras due to the many camera equipment threads. There was a need for DIY camera equipment - Depth of Field lens adaptors, DIY camera Equipment - other and DIY camera sub-forum.

373 updates

Updates on the model 373 (next Elphel camera) development now appear regularly on Elphel Development Blog. The PCB design is done so many of the expected features are frozen by now.
