Hello all!
Please take a sec to give some suggestions. I just got into video production/post production and have some trouble obtaining wanted results. I have read many posts here, other HD forums, and countless online research.
What I'm working with:
HDV 1080i and have been capturing the footage as .mpeg files using capDVHS. For NLE's using Vegas 7 and Premiere Pro 2 (mostly Vegas currently).
What I want to accomplish:
All I want too to do is compress my videos so that I could share them via internet, was thinking of .wmv or .mpg files. I'm trying to get small files at the best quality possible that can be retained from my original HDV footage. I'm looking at keeping my files at around 10MB per minute.
Firts played with PP2 for a weekend trying different export settings and got horrible results, moved on to Vegas and got better results but still only with large files. I'm getting the results I'm looking for at 30MB per minute at about a 4MB VBR.
Is there something else I can try, will a CineForm product like Neo HDV help me get my results?
Could really use some help form experienced users, I have over 60 hours of footage that needs to get worked on and this is what's holding me back. Btw, I am thinking of sticking with Vegas as I have found it very simple to use compared to Premiere.
Thanks!
