I am the second owner of this awesome autofocus lens. I have used it for a total of about four hours. Inside of the lens hood there is a soft feltish material that is slightly scuffed in a few places, and there are a few scuffs on the lens body from the lens bag rubbing. These of course do not effect the performance of the lens whatsoever. Mechanically, electronically & optically this lens is apsolutely perfect.. With features such as Image Stabilisation (IS) you can get even smoother shots. Especially when doing shoulder-mounted interviews and such.

Hmm, you must be confusing this with the stock lens. 3X doesn't have image stablization.

I'm sorry. I was writing descriptions to sell all of my XL1 stuff. I got my descriptions screwed up. You're correct - this lens does NOT have Image Stabilization.. and this is in fact the 3X Wide Angle lens. Sorry for any confusion guys.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Panasonic is the only company to sell a 72mm 16:9 anamorphic lens adapter for DVX/DVC camcorders. I want to shoot in 16:9 aspect ration with my DVC80, but don't want to pay $700.

I believe Optex does also, but the price is about the same I think.

My gl2 got wet a while back and I sent it into Canon to get fixed and they told me tough luck(the parts and labor would cost more than a new camera). Im not exactly sure whats wrong with it but if anyone fixes Gl2s or looking for parts(mechanical parts, body parts, the lens, plastic gears etc.) and wants to make an offer for it, be my guest. I only plan on selling it as one unit, not in pieces. The camera was only 6 months old when it bit the dust and I had only filmed maybe 10 hours max of video on it.

I am in the market for good studio lighting. 350 - 1000 watts. Soft boxes (2) min 32". Good quality lighting.

The camera got completely submerged in fresh water while the camera was on. So something shorted out. I was told that if the camera wasn't on and I let it dry out it probably would still be working. I let it dry out for a week and tried to see if it would turn on but it wouldnt.

The bag has been put for auction on eBay.

I received your email and sent you a reply. It may have been filtered, but the fresnel is still available. To answer your question, any medium-duty stand should work well with this light. It's fairly light and compact so a large or C-stand is not really necessary.
