Hi,

I have the horrible feeling that my question is shamefully easy but I can't find any answer anywhere so now I'm turning to you hoping to find it.

Is it possible in Vegas Pro 8 to add a media video file so it slips between two clips while moving everything located on the right side of the insertion point by the length of the new clip? I've tried many key combination while inserting the media but nothing worked. All I've found was to use the Selection Edit Tool and move all the clips manually. Very time consuming... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Benoit

I generally simply highlight the 1st clip I need to move then right click and goto 'all events to end'. That grabs those and then I can move them the appropriate amount.

Turn on Auto Ripple, grab and slide the second clip to the right (everything will follow), drop the new clip in, slide the old clip back to take up the space and disable Auto Ripple.

Use the auto ripple tool. There are different setting for it. Here is picture of button for Vegas 9, which is similar to Vegas 8.

Actually its as easy as toggling on auto ripple then inserting the new clip on the timeline where you want it. Everything from that point on will automatically move to allow the new clip to fit. You can choose to apply auto-ripple to all tracks or just the affected one. Just make sure you remember to turn auto-ripple off again (unless you always work with it on)
