View Full Version : I just ordered a Magiqcam!! Tim Langston September 30th, 2004, 06:39 AM Walk in, Walk back is my zoom controller. Tim Charles King September 30th, 2004, 07:03 AM Michael try and find a zoom controller that is much leaner than the varizoom otherwise it is going to upset your operation. Trust me, you don't want that happening in a middle of a shoot. I'm not saying it's impossible but believe me the bulk of the varizoom doesn't really cut it on a stabilizer. A simple in and out controller would do thus lessening the bulk of all the other finesse. There are some out there. You probably do a search in google. Charles Papert September 30th, 2004, 08:43 AM Good one Tim! I've said something along the same lines for years. Being able to zoom while walking with a stabilizer is a tricky beast at best. I own a high-end zoom control that I use for broadcast work, and as great as it looks to move laterally while zooming I generally find that my footsteps "show through" the move a bit. It can be a powerful tool but it's pretty advanced stuff to throw into the mix. Michael Best September 30th, 2004, 09:05 AM Wow, learned something again, thank you - I'll refrain from considering this right now then. Wesley Wong October 2nd, 2004, 11:26 AM " Huff Puff, practice practice, balance . Aum !!! " - My mantra ever since the magiqcam arrived on Friday. Tim Langston October 2nd, 2004, 12:25 PM Well my Magiqcam is due to arrive on Monday. I also just got in a Stedicam Vest and arm for the Steadicam jr or dv steadicam. I'm liking that very much!!! We'll see how the Magiqcam handles, hope Fedex delivers in the morning and not late afternoon. Tim |
