Hi all,

My name is Denis Basic [Bashich]. I am originally from Bosnia. I live, study and work in Seattle, WA. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Near and Middle Eastern studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. I am a passionate traveler, an aspiring documentary and feature film director, and a screenplay writer. Since March 2002, when I got my XL-1s, I have also been in love with challenges of operating a DV camera.

I plan to make a short art movie in Seattle. So, if there are any videographers in the larger Seattle area who would like to exchange their experiences with me or even to volunteer on my project, I would like to chat with them in person. In return I could help them on their projects.

Of course, I am here to exchange ideas and tips not only with Seattlites, but also with all other interested members of the DV community.

In the end I would like to express thanks to Chris Hurd, Ken Tanaka, Jeff Donald, Rob Lohman and other people for establishing, maintaining, and contributing to this extremely helpful web site.

The best of luck and a lot of success to all of you,

Chris Hurd

Hi,

New to the board but I LOVE all of the wealth of info available on this site. My name is Aaron Nanto and I'm in Seattle as well (Bellevue exactly) and have been working with Visual Effects as a hobby for quite some time (mostly 3D CG stuff in my spare time.)

I hope to be making money doing Visual Effects sometime within the next few years, but in the mean time, I've been making my own FX demos which are available on www.nantofx.com. (if the server is busy, please try again...I'm hosting it at home.)

I'm currently working on a "big" short film as primary Visual Effects guru right here in Seattle...we shoot in two weeks and are using a few XL1s..so after shooting is done I will be living my life in post for a few months!
